Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Road Designer / Civil Design Engineer with 8–10 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will work across a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects, including urban and regional roads, airport facilities, construction staging, bridges, and car parks.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for delivering detailed designs, managing design processes, and working closely with both clients and project teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver road, drainage, and pavement designs from concept through to detailed design
  • Manage design packages, ensuring compliance with TfNSW and relevant Australian standards
  • Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs including staging, bridges, and associated civil works
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to clarify requirements and resolve design issues
  • Undertake design management, QA processes, and coordination with drafters
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters
  • Prepare design reports, cost estimates, and supporting project documentation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 8–10+ years' experience in road and civil design, ideally with exposure to varied project scales
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or equivalent) for road, drainage, and pavement design
  • Strong understanding of TfNSW and local government standards
  • Experience managing design packages and coordinating multidisciplinary inputs
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing capability
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
