About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent, salaried position with Barminco, a leading hard-rock underground mining company. As a Senior Business Partner Human Resources, you will be responsible for ensuring the HR strategy is embedded within the Australia business and delivering high-quality proactive HR guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the strategic HR business plan for the Australasian business unit.
  • Develop bespoke plans for individual projects where appropriate and aligned to the overall Contract Mining vision.
  • Coach and mentor leaders and Human Resource Business Partners.
  • Assist in the development, negotiation, and implementation of relevant Enterprise Agreements.
  • Manage formal grievance investigations and dispute resolution, as required.
  • Manage applications submitted to the Fair Work Commission and act on behalf of the company where necessary.
  • In partnership with the Head of Human Resources Australia:
    • Assess the ongoing state of psychological safety within the Australian business unit.
    • Develop, implement, and assess fit-for-purpose education programs for leaders and employees.
    • Review systems and processes that support safe and respectful workplaces.
    • Drive robust diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and champion employee engagement, culture, and wellbeing.
    • Facilitate the implementation of employee lifecycle activities within the business, including remuneration and benefits, talent management, and organizational development activities.
    • Support the company's tendering processes.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification or significant professional working experience in a senior HR generalist role, preferably within the mining and/or resources sector.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to determine performance and action.
  • Ability to influence and drive change.
  • Proven ability to apply knowledge of employment legislation, awards, and agreements, policies, and best practice.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, diverse projects.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a similar role.
