Expert Sexual Assault and Family Violence Trauma Counsellor

We are seeking a skilled professional to provide evidence-based training and become a competent trauma counsellor.
This critical role requires a supportive and experienced team member to work collaboratively with clients, their families, and key agencies within the scope of current legislation and professional guidelines.
- Provide counselling and therapeutic interventions to people who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence
- Undertake evidence-based and trauma-focused assessments, case formulation, goal setting, counselling, advocacy, group work, and crisis response
- Work collaboratively with the client and key agencies to advocate for, assess, and respond to identified risk
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated clinical experience working with and responding to complex trauma related to sexual assault and/or family violence
- Crisis intervention skills necessary for supporting people who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence
- Experience working with children with trauma related to sexual assault and/or family violence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience in preparing written reports for therapeutic and legal purposes
- Excellent team work, interpersonal, and communication skills, including building trust and rapport with colleagues and delivery of commitments
