We are seeking a highly skilled Residential Design Expert to join our Housing team in Adelaide.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with diverse engineering backgrounds, with 3+ years of experience in the field, even without an engineering degree.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality solutions in the residential housing market, including single-storey, double-storey, transportable, and pole-frame designs.
  • Produce and review designs such as site plans, drainage plans, and related documentation.
  • Review engineering reports and documentation to ensure quality control and support skill development.
  • Manage client interactions, including setting agendas, capturing minutes, and monitoring feedback.
  • Attend site meetings with stakeholders like builders, homeowners, and contractors.

Maintaining proactive communication with all stakeholders, including engineers, staff, builders, contractors, and councils.

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in volume housing.
  • Experience in designing residential/low-rise structures.
  • Experience with timber, reinforced concrete, steel structures, and related designs.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, Toolkit, Inducta (advantageous), RAPT (advantageous).

Ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders. Strong understanding of Australian standards and building codes, including AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, NCC.
