We are seeking a talented Residential Design Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings for custom-designed residential dwellings using ArchiCAD.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of our organisation.

About the Role:

As a Residential Design Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely output of all design functions & tasks, including 3D rendering, concept designs, planning drawings, amendments, stage one working drawings, & final construction sets.

You will also facilitate design meetings with clients in collaboration with the sales team to help demonstrate/meet the needs of our clients, highlighting our design expertise and winning their confidence to proceed to build with us.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure a high level of quality controls are in place to ensure drawings are accurate and comply with all governance bodies and construction practices.
  2. C heck and approve timber framing layouts and structural steel documentation ready for publishing to construction.
  3. L iaise with selections and production estimation departments.
  4. W ork closely with the construction manager and supervisors to enhance our construction methodology.
  5. L iaise with local councils to gain relevant feedback/guidance in relation to proposed designs.
  6. L iaise in a professional and efficient manner with our suppliers and/or contractors.
  7. E nsure we are 100% compliant in all aspects of legislative Work Health and Safety and take measures to ensure the safe work practice of yourself, other employees, our clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Diploma qualification in Building Design.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a drafting role in the housing and construction industry.
  • P referred experience with ArchiCAD, however not essential.
  • S ound knowledge of the National Construction and Australian standards & codes.
  • S trong understanding of building design concepts and procedures.
  • S old understanding of building specifications, materials, and construction practices.
  • A bility to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with proven time management and organisational skills.
  • H igh attention to detail.
  • E xcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
  • A bility to show initiative.
  • C ollaborative working approach.
