
Local Compliance Lead

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of compliance requirements in Australia, leveraging a well-established framework and organization.
Main Responsibilities:- Coordinate compliance efforts in Australia within the global framework supported by Compliance colleagues in central functions.
- Ensure regulatory requirements and licence conditions are met, including managing any changes.
- Be the primary liaison with ASIC and respond to queries in a timely manner, with support from the global team.
- Report to senior management on a quarterly and ad hoc basis.
- Support successful implementation of policies and procedures, promote consistency across Australia, and facilitate escalation and resolution of compliance issues.
- Advise employees on codes of conduct, securities trading, gifts, outside business interests, confidentiality, separation, recordkeeping and regulatory disclosures with assistance from central functions.
- Represent compliance at meetings, provide updates, communicate new and revised policies and procedures, and present on compliance topics of interest.
- Conduct investigations and support surveillance teams where necessary.
- Lead projects and contribute to global project teams on large-scale initiatives.
A key focus area for this role is working closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless compliance execution.
Requirements and Qualifications:- 8-10 years' experience in a compliance-related field.
- Bachelor degree or higher in business, law or finance-related discipline.
- Experience working in an ASIC regulated financial institution.
- Affinity for project work and problem-solving, with a proven track record in identifying and analyzing relevant considerations, developing recommendations, and presenting findings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills and creating and delivering training and presentations.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as effectively within teams.
- Flexibility and excellent time-management skills.
