Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced economic development professional to join our progressive and innovative team. As the region continues to grow and prosper, we are seeking a temporary full-time (1 year duration) role to drive the development and implementation of the Regional Economic Development Strategy.

The successful candidate will focus on developing strategic partnerships with government and industry to capitalise on opportunities in the renewable energy sector. They will manage multiple relationships with renewable energy proponents to ensure the best outcomes for the local community and economy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering projects that promote economic development and/or business investment
  • Developing strategies, policies and business plans
  • Managing own varied workload balancing competing tasks

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, demonstrated experience in economic development and project management, and excellent communication and liaison skills.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Economics or other relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering projects that promote economic development and/or business investment
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and liaise with community representatives, levels of government and the private sector
  • Class C drivers licence
