  • Taking charge of tasks related to AM and GWEO initiatives, advising on optimal strategies.
  • Establishing processes and protocols throughout the business area to ensure adherence to national and international export control laws and customs responsibilities.
  • Verifying that projects have secured the necessary permits and licenses for both tangible and intangible exports, and managing modifications to these authorizations as required.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of trade compliance measures and proposing and executing mitigation strategies in instances of non-compliance.

Your Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following knowledge and experience:

  • Extensive experience in export controls and a comprehensive understanding of international trade matters.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Australian and U.S. export control regulations, along with overall compliance in import and export activities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in international commerce, economics, policy, or international relations are highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in the Defence sector in a trade/export control compliance capacity is advantageous.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying government policies.
  • Demonstrated leadership of small to medium-sized teams across various locations.
  • Ability to influence and engage a diverse range of stakeholders, fostering strong working relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and effective prioritization skills.
  • Flexibility regarding work schedule, hours, and location.
  • Possession of NV1 clearance, or Australian citizenship with eligibility to obtain a defence security clearance up to NV1.

We are dedicated to promoting a diverse workplace, and this commitment begins here.
