We're seeking a Trade Compliance Officer to oversee trade compliance matters for our Ammunitions (AM) and Guided Weapons (GWEO) business area.

This role will focus on providing crucial guidance and support to the business area on global trade matters, serving as a trusted advisor on global trade compliance requirements, and implementing processes and procedures to uphold compliance with national and international export control regulations and customs obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to the business area on global trade matters
  • Offer expertise on global trade compliance requirements and assist in their implementation
  • Implement processes and procedures to uphold compliance with national and international export control regulations and customs obligations
  • Ensure that projects have obtained the necessary permits and licenses to support both tangible and intangible exports
  • Monitor the effectiveness of trade compliance controls and propose mitigation strategies in cases of non-compliance

Requirements:

  • Solid experience in export controls and international trade matters
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with Australian and U.S. export control laws
  • Tertiary qualifications in international commerce, economics, policy, or international relations
  • Previous experience in the Defence industry in a trade/export control compliance role
  • Experience in interpreting and implementing government policies
  • Demonstrated leadership of small to medium teams
  • Ability to influence and engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and effective prioritization skills
  • Flexibility in terms of work schedule, hours, and location
  • Holder of NV1 clearance, or Australian Citizen and eligibility to obtain a defence security clearance up to NV1
