About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Maintenance and Grounds Team Member to join our team at Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School in Gladstone. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for performing daily grounds and maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and maintenance of school buildings and surrounds, gardening, and beautification of the school's grounds.



Key Responsibilities



  • Securing grounds and equipment to ensure school safety
  • Mowing, trimming, and fertilizing lawns and turf areas
  • Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems
  • Weeding, planting, and fertilizing gardens
  • Outdoor cleaning using high-pressure water cleaners
  • Identifying and assisting with minor building maintenance, such as touch-up painting and other minor repairs
  • Assembling, moving, and relocating furniture
  • Assisting with the setup of spaces for school events
  • Gardening and general caretaking of school buildings and gardens
  • Working with other grounds staff as required
  • Rubbish and waste management
  • Collaborating with contractors to oversee major repairs and maintenance


Requirements and Qualifications


To be successful in this role, you will need to have relevant experience and an understanding of and commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education. You should also possess excellent time management skills and well-developed interpersonal skills.
