About the Role

The Catholic Schools Office Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join their team as Assistant Head of School Improvement. This is a permanent full-time position that will play a critical role in driving educational excellence and fostering innovation within the school system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead system-wide projects to enhance educational outcomes and develop leadership talent
  • Support evidence-based decision-making and empower leaders to harness data for strategic planning
  • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, agility, accountability, and trust
  • Collaborate with principals, leadership teams, and key stakeholders to deliver optimal outcomes for the school system
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to support schools in achieving continuous improvement in student educational outcomes
Requirements
  • Practising Catholic with an understanding of their baptismal call to share and witness the good news of Jesus Christ
  • Demonstrated success as a system or school leader in leading and supporting effective school operations
  • Demonstrated success in implementing high-profile and complex business projects with cross-functional partners
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, change management, and partnership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and support schools in setting and achieving strategic priorities
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting analytics and understanding business performance reporting metrics
  • Proven experience in leading, developing, and managing teams to achieve their goals
Qualifications
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and achievement
  • Active NESA Teacher Accreditation
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Accreditation to Work, Teach, and Lead (level E)
  • Project Management certification (desirable)
  • Change Management certification (desirable)
