Therapeutic Support Professional

This role involves providing emotional support and guidance to patients and their loved ones who are experiencing trauma, grief, and loss due to cancer.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver education, clinical supervision, and reflective practice for staff while promoting the benefits of counselling among healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting individual and group therapy sessions for patients and carers
  • Facilitating educational workshops and clinical supervision for healthcare staff
  • Advocating for the importance of counselling within healthcare settings
  • Working closely with colleagues to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Postgraduate qualification in psychotherapy or a related discipline
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a counsellor in a healthcare environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Proven ability to utilize diverse therapeutic techniques
  • Specialized training in techniques used in loss/bereavement or cancer care
  • Deep understanding of the psychological impact of cancer on patients and their families
