Job Title:
Disability Support Specialist
Summary:
We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Disability Support Workers to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration.
We are recruiting for Southeast QLD regions from Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast, and Northern NSW suburbs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
- Help clients with mobility and transportation needs
- Administer medication and monitor health conditions
- Assist with meal preparation and household tasks
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Develop individualised support plans for each client
- Monitor client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Maintain accurate records keeping
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations
- Provide high-quality support and care to clients with multiple diagnoses
- Efficient Organisational and time management skills
Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Certification III or above in disability support or related field preferred
- Knowledge of the NDIS Framework and Practice Standards
- Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Valid Drivers License
- NDIS worker screener check
- Working With Children Check
- Valid rights to work in Australia
