Job Title:

Pediatric Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centered care to children in the South Western Sydney Local Health District.

The role involves supporting the implementation of Brighter Beginnings preschool health and development screening, assessing early intervention needs, and developing capacity-building programs for families and carers. You will also participate in the evaluation of initiatives and contribute to education and training programs for allied health professionals and students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides clinical governance, leadership, and expertise in paediatric occupational therapy services
  • Supports the implementation of Brighter Beginnings preschool health and development screening
  • Assesses early intervention needs and develops capacity-building programs for families and carers
  • Participates in the evaluation of initiatives and contributes to education and training programs for allied health professionals and students
Requirements:
  • Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in paediatric populations
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence-based practice and/or development of treatment protocols
  • Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating quality improvement processes
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
  • Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2) or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in community-based services
  • Knowledge of local health district policies and procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
