Transport Logistics Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transport Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of goods and materials within a busy logistics environment.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods and materials, from receipt to dispatch, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate the movement of goods and materials, using knowledge of transportation routes, schedules, and regulations.
  • Book slots and plan collections and deliveries, ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods.
  • Liaise with drivers, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including delivery schedules, vehicle utilization, and customer feedback.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a transport or logistics related role.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, laws, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Able to learn new software and systems quickly.
Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the above requirements, it would be beneficial if you had:

  • Experience with transportation management software and systems.
  • Knowledge of import and export procedures.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes.
