Job Title: Legal Counsel

The primary objective of the Legal Counsel position is to provide timely, effective, and strategic legal advice encompassing a broad spectrum of corporate and real-estate transactions. This role entails supporting governance, managing risk, and ensuring legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Advice & Compliance: Offer strategic, solution-focused legal advice across the business, promoting a culture of legal awareness and responsible decision-making.
  • Contracts & Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents with precision and efficiency, prioritizing clarity and effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong relationships with internal teams, external advisors, and government bodies, fostering open communication and collaborative partnerships.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks, support expansion into new development areas, and promote a culture of proactive risk assessment and mitigation.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: A law degree and current Australian Practising Certificate are essential for this role.
  • Experience: 3–6 years post-admission, ideally with 1+ years in-house experience and exposure to corporate or real estate law, demonstrating expertise and adaptability.
  • Legal Breadth: Commercial contracts, corporations law, property, construction, IP, privacy, compliance, or litigation experience is viewed favorably, highlighting versatility and depth of knowledge.
  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to provide clear, commercial legal advice on complex issues is crucial, requiring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels, are necessary for success in this role.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive, solutions-focused approach, coupled with strong ownership, is vital for navigating complex challenges and delivering results.
  • Team Player: Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, is essential for achieving team goals and driving business success.
