ATSICHS Brisbane is a community-owned not-for-profit health and human services organization serving the unique health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in greater Brisbane and Logan.

As a Medical Receptionist Trainee, you will be the first point of contact at one of our medical clinics, interacting with patients and providing a positive experience.

This entry-point role offers opportunities for growth and development, with supervision from experienced health professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet clients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Manage phone calls and messages according to ATSICHS Triage procedures.
  • Book appointments using the MMex system.
  • Maintain specialist calendars.
  • Process GP referrals and ensure confidentiality when handling patient information.

Requirements

  • Must identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person in accordance with the Anti-discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
  • Willingness and ability to undertake a minimum Certificate III in Business Administration.
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and under guidance.
  • Previous experience working with diverse cultures.
  • Effective communication skills with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Valid National Police Check.
