Strategic Aboriginal Health Leader

We are seeking an experienced Executive Manager with a passion for leadership in Aboriginal health to join Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) as part of our efforts to advance health equity and improve outcomes for Aboriginal people through building strong partnerships and designing more culturally safe services.
The Director will elevate the focus on Aboriginal expertise to drive shared decision-making and innovative collaborations, informing and leading how MLHD engages with local Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team providing strategic direction and guidance to the Chief Executive, the Executive Leadership Team, and other key stakeholders within the LHD and region.
- Support the development and implementation of culturally acceptable plans, policies, services, and programs that achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes for local Aboriginal people and communities.
- Strategy and Planning: Lead the implementation of state guidelines, programs, and priorities, balancing evidence-based approaches with innovative solutions that work with local communities.
- Safety and People: Manage processes that monitor and evaluate services and programs, measuring Aboriginal and population health outcomes against agreed national, state, and local indicators.
- Efficiency Improvement: Oversee and monitor expenditure, revenue, and activity to ensure efficient, effective, and sustainable service delivery occurs within allocated budget and delegation.
