Reliability Engineer Role

This position plays a key role in shaping asset reliability and performance across national rail infrastructure.

The successful candidate will use their expertise to drive system improvements, data-led decisions, and real operational outcomes.

About the Role
  • Develop and review asset class strategies for new and existing rollingstock assets.
  • Act as the key user and SME for the enterprise asset management system (EAM).
  • Analyse failure data to improve asset reliability and inform capital planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining asset class strategies across new and existing rollingstock assets.
  • Leading workflow improvement projects within EAM and championing system integration opportunities.
  • Providing configuration governance to support project delivery and asset readiness.
  • Mentoring planners and maintenance staff on effective workflow and system use.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Background in maintenance or reliability engineering with at least 3 years in a heavy industry environment.
  • Strong experience using and configuring CMMS or EAM systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of maintenance planning scheduling and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working with both engineering and operational teams to influence outcomes.
  • Systems-thinker with excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred skills include root cause analysis or investigation training.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a relevant trade qualification, diploma, or degree.
