
Senior Plant Disease Specialist

We are seeking a talented and motivated academic in plant pathology to join our faculty.
The successful applicant will bring expertise in plant pathology, including pathogen diversity and biology, diagnostics, epidemiology, biosecurity, and disease management with a focus on horticulture, crops, or environmental sustainability and resilience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to undergraduate teaching in agriculture from first year to Honours/Masters level.
- Be actively involved in postgraduate training.
- Participate in management and administration.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the promotion of teaching and learning.
Required qualifications include:
- PhD or equivalent in plant pathology or a related plant science discipline.
- Research track record of research excellence in plant pathology.
- Teaching experience in plant pathology, including lectures, tutorials, and supervision of laboratory and field-based practices.
- Experience in supervising students, including Honours and Higher Degree by Research.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and time management skills.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of relevant work health and safety issues.
