**Staff Specialist Opportunity**

The Department of Infectious Diseases is seeking a skilled and experienced Staff Specialist to join their team at Westmead Hospital.

The ideal candidate will have a high level of competence in clinical care in infectious diseases, including critical care infection, infections in immunocompromised patients, HIV medicine, tuberculosis, surgical infections, infections in returned travelers, infections in pregnancy, emerging infectious diseases, high consequence infectious diseases, infection prevention and control, and antimicrobial stewardship.

The Centre for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology provides comprehensive services related to Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, including inpatient, outpatient, and consultative care, antimicrobial stewardship, infection control, HIV services, and tuberculosis services.

The successful applicant will also be required to demonstrate skills for practice as a Senior Medical/Dental Practitioner, including effective teamwork and communication skills, organizational supervision and collaboration skills, commitment to ongoing professional development, experience in quality assurance and translating research into practice, experience in Infection Prevention and Control, ability to manage time and resources efficiently, clinical leadership qualities, and commitment to good governance, results, risk management, and education/research.
