Night Shelter Homelessness Specialist

This position provides vital assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness in a safe and welcoming night shelter environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop personalized support plans and deliver relevant services.
- Forge strong relationships with residents, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Conduct regular wellness checks, ensuring a secure atmosphere.
- Supply harm reduction items, hygiene essentials, and nutritious meals to residents.
- Assist residents with daily tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
- Facilitate access to permanent housing and additional support services.
- Counsel residents individually and lead group programs, promoting holistic well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and achievement.
- Basic computer proficiency and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
- Training in crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction methods.
- Familiarity with community resources and available support services.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and creativity.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
Education: Diploma in a related human or social service field.
Experience: Minimum one year recent experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
