Nurse Educator Position

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating innovative educational programs for neonatal nursing staff. Your expertise will guide new NICU staff through their orientation process, foster ongoing professional development of experienced clinicians, and contribute to service improvements and professional growth.
- You will support evidence-based clinical practice and participate in quality improvement projects.
- Your focus will be on elevating patient and family experiences, contributing to improved outcomes for vulnerable patients, and working collaboratively with the NICU team.
Working closely with the NICU Nurse Educator and Manager of Newborn Services, you will receive tailored education and orientation to excel in this specialized role.
About the UnitThe Neonatal Intensive Care Unit delivers high-quality medical and surgical care to sick and preterm infants from across various regions. Located in Newcastle, the facility is undergoing a transformation into a state-of-the-art unit as part of the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive educational programs for neonatal nursing staff.
Mentor new staff members during their transition into the NICU environment.
Collaborate with the NICU team to enhance patient care and improve unit performance.
