Our Team

Our growing Brisbane Financial Services and Funds team sits within our broader Corporate & Capital Markets group, led by a team of highly experienced practitioners. The team offers deep expertise across a broad range of funds management and financial services matters, including:

  • AFSL compliance and regulatory advice
  • Licensing and product development
  • Product disclosure requirements and design and distribution obligations
  • ASIC Act consumer protections, including unfair contract terms provisions
  • Anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing
  • Privacy and retail banking advice across consumer credit, APRA prudential standards, and codes of conduct

Your Role

You will be involved in a broad mix of financial services, funds management, and retail credit matters for a blue-chip client portfolio. As part of our close-knit team, you will work closely with experienced senior legal practitioners in the Financial Services industry, gaining valuable mentorship along the way.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years post-admission experience in financial services law, ideally within funds management or financial services regulation, gained within a reputable commercial law firm, professional services firm, regulator, or in-house
  • Strong academics
  • Excellent technical drafting and problem-solving skills
  • A keen interest in delving into complex issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • A client-focused mindset and a demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients, and industry contacts
