We're seeking an experienced Risk Director to join our team. This strategic leadership role will play a key part in ensuring our risk and compliance culture is robust and effective across Asset Management, Finance, and ESG activities.
The successful candidate will act as the second-in-command to the General Manager Risk – Asset Management & Finance, overseeing a team of risk specialists who provide end-to-end Line 2 risk oversight to support business objectives in a safe and commercial manner.
This role is instrumental in delivering better risk outcomes for Insignia, which in turn supports better client outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of operational risk and compliance principles and frameworks, as well as knowledge of ESG and Responsible Investing practices, regulations, and emerging risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building and leading a high-performing Risk Management team
- Providing effective Line 2 review and challenge across Asset Management, ESG, and Finance areas
- Offering risk management expertise and considered advice aligned to established risk frameworks
- Assisting with the growth and development of team members using your depth of experience
- Oversight of business planning activities, regulatory requirements, compliance plans, change initiatives, incident and breach reporting, controls, and associated assessments/attestations
- Cultivating relationships with the business and the Office of Responsible Entities
- Working collaboratively with other Risk Management functions to facilitate end-to-end engagement
- Making significant contributions to board and committee reporting
- Representing the GM Risk at boards and committees as required
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Law, or a relevant subject (mandatory)
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within the asset management sector, with a focus on fund origination and fund management (5 years)
- Proven ability to successfully lead high-performing teams
- Demonstrated skill and experience in building trusted relationships
- Ability to drive behavioural and mindset changes with key stakeholders
- Capacity to mentor team members and support their development requirements
About the Role:
The salary for this position is approximately $180,000 - $220,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including flexibility, opportunities for growth and development, and a dynamic work environment that celebrates individual differences.
