Foundations and Enablement Product Manager

This role focuses on leading a team to deliver value to Xero customers quickly, ensuring a secure and stable platform for product teams and customers to rely on.

  • Drive the direction of foundational products and services that positively impact small business owners, advisors, and employees.
  • Champion product and engineering teams as customers, working towards a world-class developer experience.
  • Embed a product mindset in engineering teams, driving success through methodical validation of a product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Understand customer problems, championing the 'what' and 'why', and deliver value through defining, driving, and executing a product roadmap.
  2. Conduct research initiatives with stakeholders, synthesise insights into actionable next steps, and make decisions.
  3. Bridge business goals, user needs, and feasibility, helping design and ship products.
  4. Effectively communicate technical challenges, collaborating on complex product decisions with engineers and architects.
  5. Support prioritisation processes and run workshops, facilitating the right activities to get information.
  6. Get into details to ensure successful execution, understanding strategic level impacts.
  7. Confidently challenge the status quo, leading change initiatives for better outcomes.
  8. Lead product development teams, actively involved in planning and growth.
  9. Act as an ambassador for your team and product, working closely with key stakeholders.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with global products and distributed teams.
  • Worked in lean startup environments.
  • Translated big strategic priorities into roadmap items.
  • Worked with developer platforms and legacy systems.
  • Established healthy ways of working on newly formed cross-discipline teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years experience in software Product Management.
  • Proven product practice leadership skills.
  • Experience with problem discovery and solution framing activities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer-centric attitude.
  • Inclusive attitude and experience working closely with design and engineering teams.
  • Proven experience shipping digital products.
  • Experience with cloud and/or SaaS products.
