We are seeking a skilled individual to take the next step in their career and join our team as a technical training specialist.

Job Description

As a Technical Training Specialist, you will assess the development needs of service technicians and implement training programs across all branches. Your responsibilities include creating instructional materials for the repair, maintenance, and operation of heavy equipment.

You will ensure training aligns with continuous improvement, quality, health and safety, and organizational performance by recording, monitoring, and integrating feedback.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with service managers and supervisors to develop technician development paths and schedules.
  • Deliver training as a certified expert or instructor.
  • Develop high-quality educational curriculum for effective equipment operation and repair.
  • Identify resources for creating classroom, hands-on, and online training courses.
  • Evaluate student competence accurately.
  • Schedule training sessions clearly and communicate course information effectively.
  • Document and report student evaluation scores and attendance.
  • Prepare and distribute certificates of completion.
  • Liaise with external agencies on behalf of the organization.
About You

We are looking for candidates with strong technical expertise and training experience. Applicants should have one or both of the following:

  • A heavy-duty certification along with a strong technical background; or
  • Previous experience in training and instructional delivery.

Candidates should also possess:

  • A willingness to obtain John Deere Certified Dealer Instructor status.
  • Mechanical, analytical, technical, and instructional design skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility to meet the training needs of various locations.
  • A professional demeanor and commitment to service excellence.
