This role is a part of a multidisciplinary team in the Department of Health, Tasmania. The team provides high-quality alcohol and drug services to achieve improved outcomes for consumers, workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role

The position requires a registered nurse with significant experience in alcohol and drug treatment, particularly opioid dependency. The successful applicant will provide consultation, education, and treatment options as per the agencies policies and procedures.

  • Provide high-quality alcohol and drug services to consumers.
  • Consult and educate healthcare professionals on best practices in substance addiction treatment.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for individuals struggling with opioid dependency.

The successful applicant will work closely with the states Alcohol and/or Other Drugs (AOD) offices and other agencies to deliver excellence in healthcare. This includes travel to provide outreach services, consultation, and education.

You Will Need
  • Extensive experience as a registered nurse in the contemporary treatment of complex clients with substance use or mental health issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
