Medical Practitioner - Alcohol and Drug Service Role Overview

This is a key role within the alcohol and drug service, responsible for providing medical expertise to support individuals struggling with addiction.

Job Description:

The Medical Practitioner will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, provide clinical supervision, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmacotherapy and be able to exercise independent clinical judgment in completing tasks.

A significant level of integrity and ethical awareness is required to act in an honourable manner and adhere to professional standards.

  • Provide medical consultations and assessments to patients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty
  • Demonstrated experience in pharmacotherapy and treatment planning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
