
Tasmanian Alcohol Treatment Specialist

Job Description
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team providing Alcohol and Drug treatment and support services. The successful candidate will work closely with Allied Health, Nursing, and Medical Officers to deliver excellence in healthcare.
The team provides a range of services including harm minimisation strategies, pharmacotherapy, consultation liaison services, inpatient and residential pathways, and medical consultation. Our services work closely with other organisations to achieve improved outcomes for consumers, workforce, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical assessments, treatment, and case management services to clients and their families/carers.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure best outcomes for clients, families, and friends.
- Provide pharmacotherapy treatment and harm minimisation advice as part of the MDT process, including travel to outreach centres and inpatient facilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary evidence-based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence.
- Ability to undertake comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions with complex AOD issues.
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (RN).
- Desirable: Completed or working towards postgraduate qualifications in AOD; current Driver's Licence.
