About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Governance and Risk Management Expert to join our team as a Section Manager - Governance and Compliance. This is a key leadership role that will play a critical part in shaping our corporate governance framework and ensuring the effective management of risk across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective governance frameworks and policies that promote transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct.
  • Lead multiple teams to provide specialist services to the business and the Council, including governance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Provide high-quality advice and guidance to senior leaders and stakeholders on governance and risk management matters.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, and to develop strategies for improving governance and risk management practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Council members, senior leaders, and external partners.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in governance, business, law, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in a similar corporate or local government leadership role, with a strong track record of developing and implementing effective governance frameworks and policies.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with a focus on developing and empowering staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
