Job Title: Information Coordinator

  • Summary of Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Information Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will provide clear and accurate information to victims of violent crime, their families, and stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:

As an Information Coordinator, your main responsibility will be to guide victims through the process, ensuring they receive the support and information they need. This includes providing assistance with financial assistance applications and connecting victims to support services.

  • Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining a victim-centric approach while working with victims of crime from diverse client groups in relation to a wide range of complex issues.
  • Providing accurate, uncomplicated, and appropriate information to victims of crime and other stakeholders, including how to apply for financial assistance under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009.
  • Assisting with applying for financial assistance.
  • Identifying support needs and providing referrals to other organisations.
  • Promoting and providing advice about the Charter of Victims' Rights.
  • Using trauma-informed strategies to manage difficult or challenging behaviours and/or emotional distress displayed by victims.
  • Navigating electronic case management systems to accurately record interactions with clients and receive and action referrals.
  • Contributing to improve team performance by sharing and implementing innovative ideas and perform other duties as required.
  • Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
