Information Security Specialist Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to our organization's information security as an Information Security Specialist. The successful candidate will provide high-level support and technical direction in maintaining the security of our ICT systems, services, hardware & infrastructure, software applications, and information assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level information security analysis and formulation of solutions to address infrastructure issues.
  • Lead incident response and management, including triage and investigation of operational alerts.
  • Conduct threat and vulnerability management, assessing and prioritizing identified vulnerabilities within our systems.
  • Develop and implement our cybersecurity framework, including policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Create and deliver security awareness training to foster a culture of security within the organization.
  • Coordinate audit and assurance activities, including IS18 attestation and reporting to governance bodies.
  • Establish effective working relationships with staff to ensure alignment and integration of operational services.
  • Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain knowledge of QLD Government IS18 policy, ASD Essential 8, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, physical networks, endpoint management, and web application technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
