About This Role

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to spearhead our APAC legal function, driving strategic growth and commercial excellence across the region.

Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you will serve as the principal legal advisor to our EVP APAC and regional leadership team, providing expert guidance on complex commercial contracts, IP/licensing, supplier agreements, and dispute resolution.

You will oversee our APAC Commercial team, partner with our Compliance function, and contribute to the company's strategic expansion in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Strategy - Establish and lead the APAC legal function, aligning legal strategy with commercial and corporate objectives.
  • Advisory Excellence - Serve as trusted counsel to the regional executive team, supporting strategic growth initiatives and commercial decision-making.
  • Commercial & Contracting - Oversee complex commercial contracts, IP/licensing, supplier agreements, and dispute resolution.
  • Corporate Transactions - Support regional M&A activity in collaboration with our Corporate Development team.
  • Governance & Compliance - Partner with Compliance to manage regulatory matters, incident response, and legal risk across APAC jurisdictions.
  • People Leadership - Lead the regional Commercial team, fostering high performance, professional development, and operational excellence.
  • External Counsel Management - Manage relationships with legal providers and optimise external legal spend.
