Strategic Policy Initiatives Advisor

The role of the Strategic Policy Initiatives Advisor involves managing activities and operations within Education Services to develop and implement high-quality support to schools.

As a key member of the team, you will assess strategic issues, provide expert advice and support to senior officers, regional and school leaders to enable quality decision making in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and relevant legislation.

The position entails leading strategies that foster high-quality collaboration, communication and information sharing to inform local service delivery and system-wide improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and providing high-level strategic guidance to senior officers across the region on policy initiatives
  • Initiating, leading and managing teams and projects to implement policy, guidelines and service implementation plans to ensure quality education service provision to all schools
  • Monitoring, analysing and evaluating activities and work practices to ensure alignment with system priorities and inform future planning
  • Developing, leading and maintaining key communication channels to facilitate effective communication activities with schools
  • In collaboration with School Supervisors and the Director, facilitating access to required professional development activities, services and support for schools and regional office personnel
  • Establishing and monitoring performance and accountability frameworks related to education service delivery using key regional and school performance data
  • Implementing and evaluating environmental scanning to identify policy gaps and develop response strategies
  • Maintaining current knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, legislation and guidelines to design, develop and deliver evidence-based practices

Actively contributing to the development and management of integrated initiatives and providing input and solutions considering multiple influences to improve service delivery and support for schools.
