About the Opportunity

Flourish Australia is seeking a qualified Mental Health Support Specialist to join our ACT team.

\

The position available is:

\
  • \
  • Closed-term Full-time (76 hrs/fortnight) until 30 June 2025\
  • Working standard business hours Monday - Friday\
  • Based in Gungahlin, working within the Commonwealth Psychosocial Support (CPS) Program\
  • Attractive hourly rates of $37.35-$40.05/hour + 11.5% Super + Tax-Free Salary Packaging\
  • $75,480 - $80,600 per year\
  • Generous leave provisions including 17.5% leave loading and 2 additional days of personal leave + extra day paid leave over Christmas/New Year + paid parental leave\
  • Family-friendly and flexible working conditions\\$3759.92 - $4081.62 monthly take-home pay after tax-free packaging\

  • As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will work with individuals who have a lived experience of mental health issues to achieve their hopes and dreams.\
  • You will play an important part in assisting people to maintain wellness and realise their goals.\
  • In this position, you will be involved in direct service delivery, providing individual support that meets the recovery journey goals and is strengths based and led by the person wherever possible.\
  • You will work within the CPS Program, which aims to assist people with severe and complex mental health challenges to build capacity in their day-to-day lives.\
  • You will support people to live independently, safely, and productively in their community, form meaningful connections, and connect them with clinical care and other services.\

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

\
  • \
  • A Certificate IV or above in a relevant field OR a minimum of 2-years full-time experience working in the human services field (as recognised by Flourish Australia)\
  • A strong commitment to recovery-based practice in the workplace\
  • A personal lived experience of a mental health issue and recovery\
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a mental health issue\
  • Understanding of, and ability to effectively use, Microsoft Office and knowledge of data information management systems\
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence\
  • Essential for this role are skills in listening, creating opportunities, and encouraging shared learning experiences\\$
