Job Description

We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join our team at headspace Canberra. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with young people and their support systems to identify their support needs, goals, and develop collaborative care plans.

You will provide high-quality psycho-social assessments and evidence-based interventions, working closely with other team members and external service providers to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to headspace Canberra.

This is a full-time or part-time role with flexibility over days and hours. Full-time employees have the opportunity to take a Rostered Day Off each month. This role is fixed-term until June 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose mental health disorders in young people
  • Provide Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based interventions
  • Develop and implement collaborative care plans
  • Engage and communicate effectively with young people, their family, and friends

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this role is AU$85,000 - AU$105,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements
  1. Current or working towards full AHPRA registration as a psychologist, clinical psychologist, mental health nurse, or occupational therapist
  2. Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders
  3. Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people
  4. Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people
