Job Title: Senior Estimator

This role is responsible for leading the estimating department, ensuring competitive tendering and cost control while achieving financial targets.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for developing strategies for competitive tender procurement aligned with company goals. The successful candidate will have experience in strategic business development, mentoring staff, and maintaining key relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for competitive tender procurement
  • Mentor and train estimating staff in accurate take-offs and pricing
  • Oversee the use of estimating software to streamline tender processes
  • Ensure adherence to ethical tendering practices
  • Maintain and update databases for conceptual and hard bids
  • Collaborate with operations and business development to optimize cost accounting and project timelines
  • Track job costs and unit production to maximize project outcomes
  • Build and sustain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary degree in building management or quantity surveying
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in estimating with strong residential estimating skills
  • High rise experience advantageous
  • Proficiency in BuildSoft or similar software
  • Strong leadership and financial acumen
