Job Opportunity: Quarry Manager

A leading construction materials producer is seeking a highly experienced and reliable Quarry Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of their quarry in Central Queensland.

About the Role:

The primary focus of this role is the supervision and management of the quarry's operations, with a strong emphasis on safety. The successful candidate will have a key interest in day-to-day activities, including logistics and hard rock quarry management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the safety performance of employees and subcontractors in accordance with legislative requirements and mine safety management plans.
  • Maintain production targets while prioritizing employee well-being.
  • Implement quality control measures in line with client requirements and site-specific quarry management plans.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and manage environmental risks in conjunction with legislative requirements and site-specific environmental management plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Meet sales targets and manage budgets effectively.
  • Coordinate truck drivers, product deliveries, and associated tasks efficiently.
  • Develop and implement quarry development and ongoing production plans.
  • Identify hazards through active completion of risk assessments.
  • Complete daily paperwork, reviews, and load sheets accurately.
  • Provide weekly reports to senior management.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an excavator or loader operator.
  • Operational expertise in Moxie.
  • Hold a White Card and HR Licence.
  • Previous experience working in a quarry environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • FIFO/DIDO arrangements considered.
  • Company vehicle provided.
