Job Overview

The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of solar farms, meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contractual obligations. This position is responsible for managing site safety processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, subcontractor relationships, and client stakeholder management.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of solar farms to meet KPIs and contractual requirements.
  2. Develop and maintain site safety protocols and procedures.
  3. Establish and manage subcontracts for operations and maintenance services.
  4. Provide regular reporting to clients and project stakeholders.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Contracts Manager, Safety Manager, Project Engineering Team, Finance Team, and other staff involved in delivering the service.
  6. Manage subcontractor relationships, including project scope review, proposal evaluation, and close-out documentation.
  7. Support transition periods during award from development to project delivery.
  8. Implement and utilize a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan routine maintenance, create work orders, and generate reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a reputable institution.
  • Proven experience in all aspects of Operations & Maintenance of solar farms.
  • Ability to manage a solar farm site as an Operations Manager.
  • Experience managing subcontractors against their contracts.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management related to operations and service delivery.
  • Ability to communicate engineering principles to executive partners and customers.
  • Experience in power engineering (electrical), including grid connection.
  • Experience as a Senior Project Engineer, including EPC turnkey pricing.
  • Input to EPC project development.
  • Skills in planning, scope documentation, design, estimating, and project scheduling, with understanding of time and motion studies for solar farm construction.
  • BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) experience is preferred.

Working Conditions:
  • Full-time permanent role.
