About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Assurance leader to join our team.

  • Lead a talented team to deliver high-quality compliance and assurance services, empowering teams to excel in governance and accountability.
  • Apply project management frameworks, risk management processes, and legislative compliance to ensure organisational integrity and resilience.
  • Provide strategic insights on risk, internal controls, and legislative changes to inform business decisions.
  • Foster a culturally safe and inclusive workplace by championing the State Library's First Nations Strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective compliance strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide timely and accurate advice on risk management and legislative compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance organisational efficiency.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance and assurance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading compliance and assurance initiatives, with a focus on risk management and legislative compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a customer-focused approach.
