Mental Health Recovery Worker Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Mental Health Recovery worker to join our team. The purpose of this role is to support customers living with mental illness and help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide tailored person-centered services and activities that cater to the unique needs of each customer.
  • To work alongside customers with varying support needs, promoting independence, self-esteem, and overall well-being.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or relevant qualifications.
  • Relevant experience in mental health community support.
  • NDIS experience.
  • A proven capacity to deal with challenging issues.
  • A genuine commitment to working with people experiencing mental illness, demonstrated through skills and knowledge.
  • Highly developed innovative and creative thinking abilities, problem-solving abilities, compassion, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative, and adaptable within role boundaries.
  • Understanding of the person-centred approach.
  • Confidentiality and diversity awareness.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently comfortably.
  • Effective listening skills and the ability to share practical information in an appropriate and respectful manner.
  • A safety-first approach for yourself and the client.
  • Strong administrative skills, including Microsoft packages, word processing, email, and internet.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate.
