Uniting Irwin Hall, located in Mayfield, is a serene and joyful aged care residence, designed to foster a thriving community for its 38 residents.

Role Overview

This position involves working from Wednesday to Sunday, 9am to 3:30pm, where you will play a dual role as a caregiver and support the Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator.

  • Enhancing clients' quality of life by creating and facilitating engaging activities and relationships.
  • Implementing a comprehensive approach to community involvement that caters to the individual needs of each resident.
  • Building connections within the local community to promote opportunities for active aging.
  • Ensuring effective communication while maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of all clients.

Qualifications Required

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Essential qualifications in Individual Support or a related field.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Deep understanding of meaningful engagement strategies for clients.
  • Knowledge of community engagement and inclusion practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop partnerships with various stakeholders.
  • Awareness of Work Health and Safety principles and risk management.

  • Insight into the health, social, or aged care sectors.
  • Experience in aged care, community support, or leisure/lifestyle roles.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in using electronic communication tools and documentation systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management.
  • Current First Aid certification.
