Job Overview

The Hotel Operations Manager is a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel.

This position requires a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, and exceptional customer service skills.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the efficient operation of the hotel, ensuring all departments work in harmony.
  • Cross-check and balance work completed during the day for all outlets on a shift.
  • Provide warm welcomes to guests, assist with luggage, and ensure efficient arrival and departure processes.
  • Maintain professionalism and accuracy with information and billing during arrival and departure.
  • Assist in maintaining responsibility for the overall auditing and administration function of the Night Audit team.
  • Maintain procedures for cash handling and security on the front desk.
  • Conduct daily hotel audits, including balancing revenue and payments from all hotel outlets.
  • Proactively resolve complaints, focusing on win-win outcomes.
  • Promptly respond to all enquiries, including reception, switchboard, and reservations.
  • Ensure regular guest and loyalty member details are updated regularly.
  • Work collaboratively with the security team to effectively manage guest safety and be prepared for fire or emergency situations.
  • Accurately close off and roll over the PMS system.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Hotel Night Manager and night audit in a high-volume hotel (200+ rooms).
  • Proven experience with PMS: Opera Cloud.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and Excel expertise.
  • A friendly and warm personality with immaculate grooming and presentation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to use initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Possess a proactive and resourceful approach with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work evening shifts 11pm - 7am over a rotating roster as per business needs, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Willingness to obtain or have a current QLD RSA and First Aid Certificate.
  • Qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a true ambassador for our hotel brand.
  • Must hold unlimited work rights in Australia.
