ICT Project Manager Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced ICT Project Manager to join our team. This role involves managing small teams, leading agile ceremonies, and effectively communicating with peers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years' experience in managing ICT projects, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional stakeholder management skills. They will also be able to foster a team culture, lead small teams, and provide clear direction.

Key responsibilities include developing plans and schedules, managing program/project resources, leading agile ceremonies, communicating with peers and stakeholders, and contributing to portfolio/program management and governance practices.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ICT Project Manager to work on a range of ICT projects and programs, collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

  • Key duties:
  • - Manage allocated program/project resources to execute deliverables on time, within budget and to a high quality against scope.
  • - Lead agile ceremonies/team meetings (i.e. as a Scrum Master), effectively identifying and resolving issues, helping to remove impediments, and effectively mitigating and managing risk within agreed tolerances.
  • - Communicate effectively with peers and AEC executives to ensure alignment, seek engagement and feedback and highlight successes.
  • - Cultivate and maintain strategic professional relationships with business and, potentially, vendor partners and representatives from other government agencies.
  • - Contribute to portfolio/program management and governance practices, including preparing reports and other documentation; assisting with recruitment and procurement activities; and assisting to coordinate business engagement activities.
  • - Coach and mentor AEC staff as directed in their professional development to uplift organisational capability within the program/project context.

Essential Criteria

- Minimum 5 years' experience in managing ICT projects to deliver to time, cost, quality, and scope.

- Ability to foster team culture and lead small teams, including providing clear direction, effectively oversighting tasks and coaching to build high performance.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with influence, effectively interpret and synthesise technical information, and interact with people with diverse backgrounds and levels of seniority.

Desirable Criteria

- Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Management, Project Management, or a similar field.

- Demonstrated work experience managing/delivering large-scale ICT transformation programs/projects in an Australian Government setting

- Industry recognised certification or demonstrated work experience in Agile ways of working, such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or SCRUM.
