Senior Forensic Mental Health Specialist

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves working in the forensic mental health sector. As a senior psychologist, you will be responsible for providing advanced range of psychological services, including advice on the management and treatment of complex patient issues to other clinicians.
You will have expertise in clinical forensic psychology, including forensic assessments and intervention with offenders and/or forensic patients. You will also be involved in the supervision and training of other psychologists or staff within a program.
The successful candidate will have at least five years experience as a psychologist, previous working experience in a mental health facility or a forensic mental health service, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a secure mental health hospital and contribute to the development of clinical practice and program development.
Key Responsibilities:- Provides an advanced range of psychological services to inpatient units.
- Supervises and trains other psychologists or staff within a program.
- Contributes to patient risk management plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course or equivalent.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Psychologists' Registration Board of Victoria.
- Excellent supervision and investment in skill development.
