About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Planning and Projects Team as a Development Planner.

This role involves providing high-level customer service and advice on planning and development matters, supporting internal teams across the Planning and Projects Team.

Achieve development assessment outcomes consistent with relevant planning provisions and legislation, contributing to our desired business outcomes.

Support the overall functioning of the Team by contributing to continuous service improvements and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake development assessment processes for various projects.
  • Provide advice to clients and stakeholders on interpretation of relevant planning policies.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and provide professional advice on development assessment matters.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and regular updating of information systems.
  • Engage with consultants to assist in providing advice on technical matters related to development assessments.
  • Update and monitor delivery of project programs, residential development, and construction approvals.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or related field, or commensurate demonstrated experience.
  • Qualifications and/or experience in Planning-related fields, particularly Architecture, Environmental studies, Heritage, Urban Design, or Project Management.
  • Knowledge of relevant Development Acts and Regulations.
  • Eligibility for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
  • Experience in planning assessment and ability to assess complex planning matters.
  • Understanding of project management principles.
