About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Sustainability Advisor to join our team at InvoCare. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Sustainability team, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of our HSE strategy and initiatives across our NSW and ACT locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementation of HSE Strategy and Initiatives: Develop and implement HSE strategies, plans, and initiatives in line with assigned timeframes across NSW and ACT locations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including line managers, team members, HSRs, committees, and other HSS team members.
  • Internal Advisory Services: Act as an internal advisor, promoting and coaching on HSE program implementation and risk management.
  • Operational Support: Provide support to operational management and teams on a day-to-day basis.
  • Facilitation and Coaching: Utilize strong facilitation, coaching, and influencing skills to achieve desired HSE outcomes.
  • Audit and Assurance: Implement audit and assurance programs according to schedule, including close-out of associated non-conformances and observations.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in an HSE discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience within a large, diverse, and multi-site organization.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Broad understanding and working knowledge of WHS, Environment, and Workers' Compensation legislation in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Results-Oriented: Demonstrated results in improving safety culture and HSE performance.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing health, safety, and environmental challenges.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Lead ICAM Investigator: Lead ICAM investigator qualification or similar.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Return to Work Coordinator: Relevant State Return to Work Coordinator trained.
  • Risk Assessment and Consultation: Experience in the development of risk assessments and facilitating associated workplace consultation.
  • Internal Audits: Experience in conducting internal audits.
