Job Title: SHS Advisor Forestry

Qube is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SHS Advisor to join our Forestry team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, health, and sustainability of our forestry operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support, education, and advice to site operations teams on safety, health, and sustainability matters.
  • Develop and implement effective risk assessments, operational procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with third-party site representatives to obtain key information, conduct joint risk assessments, and communicate the Qube SHS Management Plan.
  • Drive the established SHS consultation and communications processes, including SHS Representatives, SHS Committees, and toolbox meetings.
  • Provide leadership and assistance in developing a safety culture and environment that is consistent across all safety-critical functions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor site SHS Management Plans to meet site performance targets and business requirements.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor an inspection and audit program for sites, including all maritime safety requirements, and mentor staff in carrying out these activities.
  • Implement the change management standard when processes change on site and ensure that all change management objectives are met and complied with.
  • Provide advice and support to site managers to ensure compliance with legislative and legal obligations regarding workers' compensation.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach site operations staff on SHS accountabilities to ensure effective implementation of SHSMS on site.
  • Provide support to site-based management on return-to-work and injury management.
  • Undertake analysis of site SHS performance, identifying trends and follow-up initiatives to address identified current or emerging trends.
  • Compile monthly reporting on SHS performance.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in OHS/WHS.
  • Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM).
  • A minimum of three years in an operational SHS environment (NHVR compliance desirable).
  • Experience in the implementation and management of safety management systems.
  • Identification and implementation of effective SHS initiatives.
  • Ability to develop tactical plans to address safety issues.
  • Heavy industry experience (Forestry operations, Mobile Plant and Lifting) preferred.
