Job Title: Registered Midwife

The Northern Territory provides birthing services in four geographical locations, delivering comprehensive care to expectant mothers across the region.

We offer various models of care, including:

  • Midwifery Group Practice (caseload/continuity of carer)
  • Team midwifery
  • Remote Area Maternity care
  • General Practitioner Obstetrician care
  • Shared care
  • Public hospital maternity care
  • Public hospital high risk maternity care

Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months experience in a relevant area of clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing/midwifery care to an allocated group of clients.
  2. Work within the registered nurse/midwife scope of practice and practice in accordance with relevant legislation, procedures, guidelines and standards.
  3. Collaborate effectively and act as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team.
  4. Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for healthcare consumers and staff.
  5. Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind – in all decision making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.
  6. Foster a positive workplace culture through role modeling appropriate behaviour.
  7. Adhere to defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken.
